Don’t let technical sounding names make you nervous. Psychomotor really just means “mind and body.” The two cannot be separated. One affects the other. The mind|body connection is very evident in Psychomotor Therapy. Pesso and Boyden are the names of the two people who developed this specific therapy technique. Although the therapies are not widely known, they have been in use since the early 1960s, with wonderful results.

Who Can Benefit from PBSP Therapy?

Sadly, a large number of women have issues that stem from childhood experiences. Those experiences, even some which may not seem traumatic, can leave deep emotional wounds. • You don’t feel safe communicating your deepest feelings to your partner.

  • You lack confidence in your abilities and fear others do too.

  • You have a negative outlook on the future.

  • You feel no one knows the real you.

  • You are careful not to set your expectations too high.

  • You internalize emotions or don’t feel emotions deeply

  • You desire a fuller life, but don’t know what’s holding you back.

What Can I Expect in a Psychomotor Therapy Session?

PBSP is a powerful, respectful therapeutic approach. In these therapy sessions, you are the one in control. As your therapist, I will act as a guide, helping you identify the source of your trauma, and supporting you in expressing fully and safely feelings that may have been suppressed. By using specific role play techniques we’ll create a new memory, a healing symbolic memory that antidotes the original wounding experience.

You may have additional questions about this therapy technique and whether it is the right fit for you. I would be happy to discuss this with you in a free consultation. Please contact me.
